I highly recommend Alfa Concrete Walls. Paul provided excellent service from start to finish and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He is friendly, trustworthy, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything is done correctly. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding, and the finished product exceeded my expectations. Paul kept me informed throughout the process, delivered on his commitments, and took pride in the work being done. It's not often that you come across someone as reliable and customer-focused as Paul. I am extremely happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend Paul and Alfa Concrete Walls to anyone looking for quality work and exceptional service

I decided to use ALFA Concrete Walls for my new precast wall installation after receiving a quotation from Josias. They were not the cheapest quote I received, but I chose them because of their 5-year guarantee and the many positive reviews I found . Looking back, communication concerns actually started before the installation even began. On three separate occasions, I had to follow up regarding installation dates because Josias had not provided the promised scheduling information. While each instance was eventually resolved, it was frustrating having to repeatedly chase updates and, in hindsight, it should have been an indication of the communication issues that would continue throughout the project. The installation took place on the 25th and 26th of last month. Before the work started, I clearly explained what I wanted and specifically pointed out that the electrical box installed in the old wall would need to be placed back into the new wall, similar to how it had been installed previously. This was discussed with both Josias during the quoting process and Paul, the site foreman, before installation commenced. Unfortunately, this was overlooked during the installation. By the time I realised it had not been reinstalled, the new walls had already been completed. Rather than creating an issue, I informed the team not to worry and decided I would arrange for an electrician to relocate the box myself. I was later quoted over R1,000 for this work, which was an additional expense that could have been avoided had the agreed arrangement been followed. Another issue I noticed after the installation was that the water drainage slab, which has three visible cracks, was left in place. I had expected that this would either be addressed during the installation or at the very least discussed with me. Unfortunately, it remained in its damaged condition. While this may seem like a minor issue compared to the wall installation itself, it is another example of details that were either overlooked or not properly communicated. I also informed Paul on the first day of installation that I would be keeping the old precast wall panels and would therefore require a revised quotation. I was told that a new quote would be sent and that I could then settle the remaining 50% balance. However, several days passed without any revised quotation being provided. The quotation included a charge of R1,125 relating to the old wall. My understanding from our discussions was that this amount was connected to the old wall panels. Since I was keeping the panels on my property, I expected this amount to be adjusted on the final account. It was only later explained to me that the R1,125 charge was for taking down the old wall and not for removing and disposing of it. This misunderstanding could easily have been avoided through clearer communication and proper documentation. It is also worth mentioning that despite still waiting for clarity on the revised quotation and despite my concerns regarding the electrical box, I paid the remaining 50% balance in full. I honoured my side of the agreement without hesitation. Unfortunately, the same urgency shown when collecting payment has not been shown when responding to my concerns or arranging the management follow-up I requested. Another issue involved the fibre box. I informed the installers that the fibre box attached to the old wall was not in use, as I use a different fibre connection elsewhere on the property. After the installation was completed, I noticed that the fibre box had simply been left lying on the sidewalk. When I went to move it myself, I discovered that the cable had been broken off rather than properly removed. What disappointed me most was not the mistakes themselves, as mistakes can happen on any project. It was the way the matter was handled afterward. After I emailed regarding the revised quotation, I received a call from Josias. Instead of calmly addressing the misunderstanding, I found his attitude to be defensive, argumentative and unnecessarily arrogant. The explanations provided during the call differed from what I understood from our original discussions, both during the site visit and when the quote was provided. I was also not the only person present during these conversations. Due to my dissatisfaction with how the matter was handled, I requested to speak to a manager. At the time of writing this review, I have still not been contacted by management, nor has anyone followed up with me regarding my concerns. This has only added to my disappointment with the company's after-sales service. To be fair, the actual wall installation itself was completed to a good standard and I am happy with the quality of the finished walls. The workmanship appears solid, and the final product looks good. Unfortunately, the overall experience was negatively affected by poor communication, overlooked instructions, unresolved concerns, and disappointing after-sales service. Taken individually, each of these issues may appear minor. However, when combined—the repeated communication problems, the overlooked electrical box, the cracked drainage slab that was left in place, the damaged fibre cable, the quotation confusion, and the lack of management follow-up—they created a customer experience that fell well short of the expectations set by the company's reputation and online reviews. My advice to future customers would be to ensure that every detail, no matter how minor it may seem, is recorded in writing before work begins and that any changes to the quotation are confirmed in writing before installation proceeds. I would also advise prospective customers not to base their decision solely on positive online reviews, as reviews often reflect only part of the customer experience. While the quality of the installation may be good, communication, accountability, and after-sales service are equally important factors to consider when choosing a contractor. I chose ALFA Concrete Walls largely because of their positive reviews and reputation, and while the quality of the finished walls met my expectations, the overall customer experience did not. A good installation is important, but so is how a company communicates and responds when concerns are raised after the work is complete.
