I would like the residents of Gordons Bay, Strand, Somerset West area to be aware that sending goods or furniture to Alf Duncan Auctioneers in Strand will almost certainly mean waiting several months for the money owed to you.

The service is very good until you would like money from them. The receptionist will agree a date and time suitable to you. The removal men are careful and efficient. The sale goes through quickly and efficiently and there it stops.

It matters little whether you ring, email or even visit. The staff who actually work from the auctioneer’s premises will always promise to “ring you back”, “pass your message”, “follow up on your behalf”. They will never put you through to the “lady” who deals with payments. This is, I understand, Alf Duncan’s daughter, who took over account payments when her mother died and is even slower in paying than her mother was. Apparently she does not work from the premises and the staff who do work there are very careful to protect her anonymity and will not give a number or even a name for her.

It is appalling that this *******ion is protected by the employees of Alf Duncan. I think they should all be ashamed of themselves.
