Unprofessional, no integrity
I had an entirely lackluster experience dealing with Alexander Swart Kraaifontein and judging by the reviews for their other branches I would not be surprised if bad service is part of their company values.
From the first meeting with the agent and after he made us follow him to properties we said we do not want to see it was clear that this was going to be a bumpy ride but I persisted anyway so I suppose it is partly my fault.
Eventually, I found a property I liked but unfortunately it had a sole mandate to Alexander Swart so I had to contact the aforementioned agent. It took the agent 3 days to send me the offer to purchase after I had informed him I would like to put in an offer (He said he would send it through immediately). Once the offer was sent there was no further feedback from the agent and I had to continuosly follow up on the progress. This entire process of going back and forth took 2 months and I had only gotten somewhere once I involved a manager at Alexander Swart. I got the feeling that the agent was buying time and using my offer to solicit higher offers from other potential buyers which is understandable but at least provide some feedback.
Once we got the keys to the property, we did a walkthrough with the agent and found a few issues that the agent agreed should be addressed by the seller (Missing keys, ***** electrical work). 4 days passed and there was no response from the agent so I followed up on the progress and to this day there has been no response from the agency.
If you ever have to deal with this agency, make sure you get everything in writing and that it is stated by the agency themselves. By all means do NOT send them an update/summary of what was discussed in person/telephonically via email - get them to email you and "put it down on paper" as they will always tell you what you want to here in person/telephonically and then go back on their word from my experience.
