Unclaimed benefit

Last year November I submitted all the document for an unclaimed benefit to Alexander forbes. I was told that it will take 10 to 12 weeks for the money to be paid out. In January when I called them again, they said that the claim was only submitted on the 4th of Jan 2016, and it will take 10 to 12 weeks again, but they will priorities my request. On 19 February 2016 I was told that everything was ok and that the administrator requested for the funds and it will take 3 to 5 days to pay out. after 5 days when I called they said it will take 7 to 14 days to pay out. This morning when I called, they said that they need proof of membership, after they told me that it was ok to submit a AFFIDAVIT from the police station because I could not get proof of membership for my late mother where she was employed at, as the HR could not find any of her records in their archives. So now I would like to know what is going to happen to my late mothers money because I don't have proof of membership.
