Transfer of provident fund to a Preservation Fund
On resignation from my job in November 2016, I filled in forms for Alex Forbes to transfer my funds to a preservation fund.
To date, this instruction still has not been carried out. When I spoke to a staff member at Alexander Forbes, I was told that the funds had been transferred into an unclaimed benefits fund. For the past 2 weeks I have been going back and forth via e-mail with the staff who : 1.) have not bothered to call me to resolve this, 2.) have not responded to my queries as to the tax implications of this non-transfer, 3.) not once apologised for the sheer incompetence in handling this transfer.
This is pathetic service by a major financial institution. Alex.Forbes needs to train its staff in customer service , i.e. contact customers when there is a problem with a claim, rather than leaving the claim for more than a year and a half.
