Pathetic service in paying Pension fund claim

I recently resigned from my place of employment and lodged my Retirement Fund Payout claim. The company I had resigned from notified Alexander Forbes of closure of the Ccount and fulfilled all their obligations by oaying their final cobtributions by the 25th of June 2018.

Alexander Forbes then only affected processes after the 7th of July 2018 (approximately 12 working days later). Upon calling Alexander to enquire about the matter, the consultants **** and said my previous employer had not paid the final contributions, until I told them that I had investigated the matter with them and they had satisfied me by showing proof of Payment. I then waited for Alexander Forbes to seek a tax directive from SARS and then affect payment.

Seeking a Tax Directive is a exercise that does not take more than 48hours and so is affecting payment.

I have been waiting for Payment of my funds for over a month to date without any valid reasons for the delay.

I have dealt with Sanlam before, relating to the same matter and they completed and affected payment within 2 weeks of receiving the final contributions from my employer. It amazes me as to why Alexander Forbes is taking a month unless you are understaffed or have an abundance of *********** staff. I am very disappointed with the disastrous service, as you are dealing with people's monetary rights, and unless you have a very very good reason for the delay then you may be held accountable by law for baselessly withholding people's pecuniary interests.
