mines1970unclaimed fund run around

I am a 70 year old man who use to work for the mines in the 1970's. With that said, I have been trying to claim funds which are due to me from Alexander Forbes as part of the mines1970unclaimed pension/provident funds. This has been an unpleasant experience form the start and Their service is absolutely ridiculous. Basically , i am worse off than when i started with the claim process. In 2016 one of my colleague informed me of the funds and confirmed that they were paid out already. Since i was working for the same company and under the same terms, i went to Alexander Forbes trying to claim aswell. I was given a form to fill in and they also required my record of service. I am Malawian National, therefore i could not fulfill one of the requirements from Alexander Forbes.i.e Opening a bank account for the funds to be paid in. I have requested that Alexander Forbes to use my daughter's back account who is a South African National, in which they refused to do. We have been to their offices in Sandton where we were told that that staff are working remotely from home and that nice fancy huge building you see doesn't have anyone to assist.

With the run around that i have been having with Alexander Forbes i became a bit weary, and therefore with the assistance of my daughter we sent requested a statement letter. I have sent an email to ***, ***, mines1970unclaimedpresfund & *** and i haven't received a tangible response from them. I have been calling the contact center for 3 weeks now and they have telling me the something every week.i.e we have escalated the issue and will provide you with a response in the next 3 - 5 Working day. Which by now you can guess that they don't. We end up having to call back every time.

To all employees who have provident funds or pension funds with Alexander Forbes I Urge you to consider another Financial Institution as Alexander Forbes seems to be a bunch of ********* in suits siting in fancy offices, when the time comes for them to pay your money u will get all kinds of stories from them.

My next cause of action would be to take the issue to twitter since escalating with Alexander Forbes bears no fruits.
