My father, who was a member of a pension fund that is administered by A Forbes, passed away recently. I reported his death on 7.9.2015 and submitted a copy of his death certificate and ID. His childrenn are now trying to claim the remaining pension benefits as per his nomination form that we handed personally in to A Forbes on 13.11.2013, and for which we obtained an acknowledgement of receipt. There having been no further communication after 7.9.2015 regarding the state of affairs, I managed to speak to Sonja DObson who indicated that each sibling was to submit an affidavit confirming their personal details and their relationship to the deceased, together with certified copies of their ID's and banking details, which was duly done. Yesterday, one son receives a call from Adendorff's Attorneys to the effect that according to the info supp**** by A Forbes, he is the only beneficiary. At the same time, a different son receives an email from A Forbes asking for irrelevant documentation. We are now confused as to who is doing what, what the status of this affair is, and are even more concerned at the incompetence that has been displayed by A Forbes.
