Fund Withdrawal Service

So I resigned from my company in April this year and I served my notice until the 31st of May. Me being the curious person I decided to call Alexander Forbes last week Wednesday just to find out if my withdrawal forms have been submitted and is everything in order because the HR from my previous work had said in 6 weeks I should have my money.

Only to find out when I called that my withdrawal forms have not been submitted. So I called my previous employer HR department and the HR person said I should hold the line so he can check when he submitted them, and I was told that my forms were submitted on the 22nd of May. And then he said he will call Alexander Forbes and find out what is happening and I should call him back this week.

So I waited until today then I called Alexander Forbes just to get an update, then the consultant told me they haven’t received any forms so I should call the HR department to find out if they emailed the documents or they submitted online using the online submission. If they submitted online then I should ask for a reference number and if it was by email I should ask the email to be forwarded to me then I call again and give them the submission details.

So I called the HR department again but the guy was not available because he was busy with interviews. My worry now is that I’m gonna have to wait another weeks before I get my money and I know very well my tax affairs are in order.

So now I’m basically doing the calling just to find out who is not telling the truth between my employer and Alexander Forbes. And if Alexander Forbes has my withdrawal forms I wonder which documents they gonna say are outstanding.

And here I was even thinking of getting a retirement annuity with them but with their service I’m gonna have to think twice because even the consultants take forever to answer the calls once you have been put through to the department you want. You spent 10 minutes listening to the lady busy saying “your call is important to us”. Customer service not good at all.
