Disgruntled Client

In December 2017, one of the geysers in the house burst and a claim was registered with Alexander Forbes. The matter got out of hand when the plumber sent to replace the geyser did a poor repair job causing massive damage to property and affecting the water bill which was later claimed from the insurer. Due to the damages claimed, the company put an endor*****t on my policy against plumbing pipes.

On 26 November 2018, another geyser burst and i called the insurer to send assistance. The feedback i received was that there were frequent claims on plumbing and that another endor*****t on the geysers will be placed, which means i will have to pay R5000.00 as excess instead of the normal R750.00. I informed the insurer about the feedback received from the 1st assessing plumber who indicated that the geyser was over ten years old hence it reached its lifespan. I pay my premiums monthly and on time. Since December 2018, my premium has increased twice and now Alexander Forbes seeks to recover loss by putting unnecessary endor*****ts due to what the policy covers.

What does building insurance cover? if not the household in its entirety. Alexander Forbes expects me as a paying client to accept such penalties which are uncalled for and covered as far as the policy is concerned. They should note that i am not forced to be insured with them but simply chose to stay with them due to their response times.

The Branch Manager in Pretoria just gave me a call simply to insult my intelligence. Why call me to explain an endor*****t already in dispute. I need to remind you that i am not forced to continue to be your client especially when i am being bul**** for owning a property with more than one geyser. This is insurance bullying at its worst.
