Been waiting 9 months for my Moms funeral benefit to be paid out!

Still waiting for my mothers funeral benefit to be paid out 9 months after her death! The worst service I have ever experienced! We have gone from them requesting my proof of payment for the funeral and death certificate which I sent on the 13th September 2019, to wanting a letter of executorship in May 2020 which will cost more than the policy will pay out as my mom had no estate as she was in frailcare with severe dementia and no money or assets left. I believe this is not required for a funeral benefit in any case
