Alexander Forbes Terrible Service

I am disappointed to say the very least with the service or the lack thereof that I have received from Alexander Forbes. On 03 March 2020 I sent an email requesting for information on how to go about withdrawing my provident fund but never received a response. I finally called on the 13th of the same month and was told to send through a withdrawal form. Which I did but again, I did not receive a response. A couple of weeks later, I took the initiative to call Alexander Forbes and the consultant apologized and informed me that additional information was required. My question at that point was why was this information not requested previously and I did not receive an answer.

On the 24th of April, I called yet again and this time i spoke to a consultant by the name of Xolani Cisana. He then told me that I needed to submit my marriage certificate and that this is the reason my request has not yet been actioned. At this point I was beyond frustrated and I asked the question that all the consultants at Alexander Forbes fail to answer, why was this not communicated? He assured me that he will follow up with his colleagues and revert to me with feedback regarding the date in which I can expect to receive my funds.

I am still waiting for the email as I type this. I called, On the 5th of May, I sent Xolani Cisana an email demanding a response. He has not responded to that email either. I called Alexander Forbes on the 5th of May, and I spoke to a consultant, who promised to escalate the matter to management and to revert to me with feedback. I am still waiting. She even went as far as telling me that her colleagues need to first complete a tax directive before releasing the funds. She probably assumed that i do not know what a tax directive is or how it is app**** for. It takes about 10 minutes to apply for one and 24 hours to receive a response from SARS. She also promised to email me the date when my funds will be paid out. I am still waiting.

At this point, I am beyond livid and frustrated at the level of incompetence, the lack of professionalism and the rudeness of the consultants and management at Alexander Forbes.

It is highly disappointing that a company of it's magnitude cannot follow through with it's promises.

I would never recommend them to anyone and in fact I will be withdrawing all my funds invested with them. Their service is pathetic and that is to say the very least.
