My sister has been waiting, and was on the waiting list @ Livingston hosital for the last four years. Now with the covid - 19 pandemic the hospital has closed for cleaning. It was and still is a health hazard to anyone who goes there. This is my beautiful intelligent kind gentle (very much a teacher at all times) always there to lend a helping hand to others. She is my loving sister who came home to South Africa to help me as I was struggling with an after effect of polio that I had as a child more than 60 years ago. She is my best friend my adviser, my chef, my helper, my rock. Generous to a fault always giving never asking for anything in return. We have offered the use of our car to our downstairs neighbour who does our shopping for us as we are pretty useless at the moment plus getting two wheelchairs into the car would be hilarious. Our neighbour does not have the use of a car at the moment he is an ex pat learning how to become a pilot at our Port Elizabeth facility. So it is a win-win situation. At least he and his wife and two children have use of the car so they can get around during the lockdown. Two years ago she started using my spare wheelchair to get around and it was better for her to move around but she still has to stand up to get into the wheelchair. You might not know Judy or me for that matter sometimes I accept friends who have similar disabilities to me. This time I need to help Judy. We were not close as children as I had to go to a school in JHB for corrective surgery but at the moment we are best friends and I love her with all my heart I wish I could absorb all of her pain. I do not like to ask for help, anyone who knows me knows I am stubborn as the day is long and struggle first before asking for help but anyone who can contribute even if it is only $1.00, or ₤1.00 R1.00 it will be very much appreciated. I will be giving more updates, we are waiting for a complete quote from the hospital and this will be a completely transparent “go fund me” account. I am on a disability pension from my previous employers BASF.

My Pension fund becomes availble to me on my 65 birthday at the end of march 2020. I have in the meantime been trying to contact Alexander Forbes to see if they will give me an advance of R260000 on my pension as it is so close to the day when I will receive it anyway. This money will be used to pay for my sister to go to a private hospital to have her very urgent Hip surgery. I have contacted AF by email at least 5-6 times. I have sent the quotes from the hosital to them and still no a word from AF except an automated email that sys they will get back to me with in two days. No contact received at all. The money I am asking for is to cover the operation costs which have been sent to us and the Hospital St Georges in PE has even given us a 25% discount on the registration into the hospital. We started a go fund me account as my sister worked in London as a teacher for at least 15 years. We managed to raise R58000. which will go straight to the hospital. Can anyone help my sister is now using a wheelchair and cannot walk. She is in excruciating pain daily as has reached the maximum of any pain killers the doctors will give.
