CASTING DEFECT
On the 6th December 2017 I purchased a Turbo from Alert Engine Parts in Durban. After having the Turbo fitted and used we noticed that the Turbo had a casting defect. Prior to noticing the casting defect the turbo broke. We then purchased a second turbo which we returned to them because it also had a casting defect (same as the first Turbo that broke). Alert Engine parts conducted a full inspecting of the parts and the feedback was & I quote “It is our opinion that the failure of this turbocharger resulted directly from one and / or a combination of the above mentioned and not due to any product and / or manufacturing related defects” It is unclear why the Turbo broke and in my opinion it could have been a number of reasons for which I am no longer interested in. What I am interested in is the fact that during the inspection conducted by Alert Engine parts they confirmed that the part has a casting defect however they are not willing to take any responsibility for.
