STILL WAITING FOR THE MD TO CALCULATE A PARTIAL REFUND
3 weeks later and I'm still waiting for the partial refund for the shoddy work done and poor customer service. Told it has to be calculated. Really not much to calculate.

POOR SERVICE AND CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP BY ALEJEN7
Alejen7 is a company that cleans houses and requires payment to be made upfront. I chose the more expensive of the two quotes as this included all cleaning products and equipment to be provided. When my daughter went to the premises the 4 ladies arrived at 9.00am (meant to be 8.00am) with a bucket each, a soft bristled broom, a mop and a dustpan with small broom, cloths and cleaning products. This was to clean a fully carperted 3 bedroom house. I contacted Jen Strachan, the owner, who assured me the ladies would manage the carpets without a vacuum cleaner and I would be fully satisfied. I got my daughter to fetch a "witches broom", a hard bristeled broom, a large scrubbbing brush and a ladder. Without the ladder the ladies would not have been able to do the walls and cupboards properly. As expected, the job was not done properly. The carpets had fluff on, the kitchen cupboard beneath the sink was dirty, the trays for the stove were left on the kitchen counter, there were visible spots of dirt on the kitchen and bathroom floors, the front security gate had not been cleaned the floor outside the front door had not been cleaned properly. The garage walls had not been wiped at all and there were foot prints all over the garage floor. I wrote a letter of complaint explaining the above, including pictures, and requested a refund of R1 000 (35%) for providing equipment and for the poor workmanship. An offer of sending ladies to rectify the situation was made after I had stated in my letter of complaint that this was not an option. Jen had said she need to work out on a percentage basis how much the refund would be. I questioned this as nobody from Alejen7 had been to inspect the house after the ladies had "finished", at 4.00pm. I requested that payment be made on Friday by close of day and proof of payment be sent to me. If this did not occur I informed them that I would contact Hello Peter. The response "You are welcome to contact Hello Peter or any other Ombudman as you wish." She told me again that she would "work out the refund as to what work we did do, and the percentage not done. Kindly be patient while I do that. My patience had run out. She suggested "I go for a walk in the garden and take some deep breaths". I in no way blame the cleaning ladies for the carpets not been cleaned properly as this was impossible to do without a vacuum cleaner despite what the owner said. I was told that I "do not understand how a 17 year old cleaning company works". I am have owned my own home for the past 41 years and understand what is needed to clean a carpert and it certainly isn't a soft bristled broom. The workmanship and the treatment of myself as a customer who is shocking. All correspondence was via whatsapp as Alejen7's email were down.
