Damaged Goods

Hello Peter, I bought shoes last week at Aldo on the 18th Nov 2015. I went to Centurion Mall, where they didn't have my size which is a 4.5, they searched on their system and found that the right shoe size was available at Woodlands and Brooklyn. They called Woodlands to put aside the shoe for me and at Woodlands they told them the shoe had a factory fault damage as the leather was not the same on the other and peeling off. They called Brooklyn and they told them they would put it aside. Which they did and I fetched it that afternoon. I wore the shoe on Saturday and as I stepped inside the venue where I was I noticed the shoe had peeled off. As I was already out of my house I had no choice but to wear the shoe for the next hour. I took it back to them on Monday 23rd Nov 15 and the lady Gomba and another gentleman agreed that there must've been a fault for the leather to peel off in one day. As I was about to change the other gentleman came and said I am the one that damaged the shoe and kept it saying he would investigate and didn't give my R999 back. If they refused to sell me the same shoe at Woodlands because it had a factory fault - how can I damage the shoe? Please help
