Medical aid - How service providers charge the medical aid

<p>this is no a complaint about Aldersons services. this is merely a question on how they bill the client and the medical aid. Medical aids are always accused of high premiums and above inflation increases every year. Does one ever stop to think why this happens? Well here is one example: Aldersons charges R1000 to a client for a service. However, when this same account is sent to the medical aid its R1731 for the exact same account. To say that medical aids take long to pay - this particular medical aid took 6 days to pay this account. My question is, whey the R731 extra? Admin costs? its the same admin to send to a client.....</p>
