Our room not available on arrival
I called Veronica on the 3 September at the Alcazaba lodge who accepted a booking from me for two nights, the 5th and 6th of September, insisting that a deposit to secure the booking was not necessary, but on arrival at the lodge the receptionist could find no booking in my name. My wife and I arrived at the lodge tired after a four hour drive and to be told we had no room was infuriating. Veronica denied that I ever called when the receptionist telephoned her to query my booking. When I confronted her she simply hung up.

Earlier in the year my wife and sister had exactly the same experience at the lodge when they arrived in Johannesburg from Durban by plane, only to be told they didn't have a booking despite having made one.

The duty manager, Rodney, would neither come to our assistance nor even bother to talk to us.

Both the management and owners of this establishment need to be taken to task and sanctioned in the severest manner possible for causing such inconvenience to their guests.
