Bad Business

When I contacted Sipho the first time, I was given a quote for R250 per day if I take a cleaning lady on a regular basis as opposed to R285 once off. As I wanted somebody on a Monday and Thursday, I was prepared to enter into this agreement. He also said that it is a 'pay as you go' system that he offers, which soon also proved incorrect. It soon changed inasmuch as the payment for R250 is only valid if you pay in advance. Nowhere does it state that you have to pay for a whole month IN ADVANCE.

Emails soon followed attaching invoices for the entire month and even though I spoke to him on the 1st day that the new lady arrived, all communication has been via email, threatening to suspend the service if the full amount is not paid immediately.

I am empathetic to the fact that a new lady needs to become adjusted to a new environment and the first day was not too great, with a lot of teaching and showing on my part and not a lot of work that got done. The 2nd day went better but come the cut off time, she wanted to leave, with some things not done yet.

I have made payment for 3 days in total and have only received 2 days' worth of service. I refuse to be exploited and threatened on a weekend with emails or sms's and in my opinion this makes for bad business practice to not be 100% clear and upfront about the service you offer and the tariff you are going to charge.

I requested a repayment for the overpayment back into my account and have not received it.

The lady in question now also refuses to take my calls.

I will not be using their service in the future.
