Albany Hotel Durban - Worst Experience

Booked for September 1st online to stay in Albany hotel. Website gave an option of check in times. Picked 3:00am - 5:00am option. Arrived from Johannesburg at 4:40am. Informed we could not check in regardless the time options available. Night shift personnel did advise there was one room available and will be ready between 8:30am - 9:00am after speaking to housekeeping management. Took a stroll on the beach front with my two sisters. We decided to give them ample time and came back after 10:30am and not earlier as we had been promised. What happened next was like a scene from a horror movie. Two receptionists started yelling at us after we asked if that room was ready. Told us check in time was 2:00pm which we understood. Tried to explain several times that an arrangement was already made by nightshift personnel since we arrived in the early hours of the morning. One of the ladies rolled her eyes at us and very rudely clucked. Raised her voice at us and started yelling. Told her didn’t want to speak to her again. Manager was called. He behaved exactly the same as the staff. Yelled at us and didn’t give us a chance to speak. We were told to sit and wait for room which was going to be ready in a few minutes. Manager followed us and advised debit card had not been charged yet and to cancel if we saw it fit. We decided to leave hotel. Worst experience I’ve ever experienced in my life. I would never recommend Albany hotel to anyone. Informed Manager I would put reviews on social media. Told me to go ahead. Clearly no care whatsoever!
