Huge cost fees - in return very basic accommodation

Good Day

I would like to understand from Bussiness model perspective how does following make sense. Because to logically it doesn’t, especially if you competing with other facilities offer similar treatment and accommodation .

I was admitted and placed in a room which accommodate 3 . On average. Person staying a period of 3 week at. Cost R 100 000. If you break this down it’s R5000 a day . 3 to a room is = R15000 per day . Yet the room is very ! basic . Single bed , and a little se standing double door cupboard. No Tv or even a Bar fridge . In the rooms I” m referring above. So on the admission for a question is ask d by Aseko. Do you have any special dietary requirements. With that my Doctor has prescribe day for me a few items . Which needs to be a fridge . To obtain access to same Bar fridge has been a big issue. Firstly it appears for general use these only 1 per floor. But that is Not private to ensure NO other patients might dip into your items . Which happens wether it’s stored here or general at our place of employment . I think all of us had that experience somewhere. I don’t understand why these room of 3 people in general doesn’t come with standard small bar fridge. Honestly those can be purchase from about R1100 - 1400 at any big out let ( game & P&P. Hyper) Besides keeping nutrition items for the patient benefits . Which is supp**** by the clinic . Not ! Brought in by external family or so cool.

So to sum it up ... We can give you the food item. But too keep it cool or have access 24/7. If a major problem . Logically it doesn’t makes sense. Then for is basic to average . No one expect 5 star ⭐️ Hotel food . But per meal the cost can’t be more than R 50 x 3 person per day . And on average it’s a 100 patient . The clinic is most of the time 90-100./. Full . So if you do maths R5000 a day Less around R150 max food ( 3 meals ) seeing that you are cooking a large in iQuantities !

Yet I” m able to get a room which is reference a Private room . 2 people instead of 3 . Same bed , same cupboard . Except this has a bar fridge but you need to more for that privilege.

Honestly how do you justify the cost to patient staying . In comparison to accommodate .

It’s clear the less is spend be higher the profile margin over all .

By adding a small fridge to each room will not break the bank .

It’s was brought to attention of the clinic manager . But it appears not to have any positive solution. And this person is not new to the clinic. So the excuse of I was not aware of this type of need. Bull **** . It’s common sense .

So I rest my case to who ever read this . And you can draw your own conclusions from this .

Do you think for what the Medical Aids area paying per day .

There clients are getting a far shake ?

I definitely say No
