In December 2018 Haroon Emam advertised his holiday accommodation in Durban Tinley Manor which was not fully renovated. He sent out false photos and information of his holiday apartment so he could make quick money by misleading holiday makers. One you deposit the money in his account he begins to ignore your messages and stops taking phone calls. When we arrived at the apartment we found that there was no secured covered parking. The property was in a filthy state. The apartment was still being renovated, the walls inside was wet with cement. His brother in law at the time confirmed that they are still busy fixing the place. The lounge set was wet, damp and smelly. The curtains in the rooms were all breaking off by the hooks. There is no cupboard space for clothing so we had to live out of suitcases. There is no kitchen cupboard space for any of your groceries; we had to keep all our food on the table. There is no cooking stove. He installed a 2 plate gas stove upside down, and when we attempted to use it caught alight and started to burn the table, which also smoked up the entire apartment putting us all at risk. When I called his brother to check what was happening he pretended to not know what was happening. The Gas bottle is next to the gas stove – I don’t need to explain how dangerous this is. There are no proper utensils so we had to buy our own drinking glasses etc. The shower is in a pathetic state. They used plastic pipes and taps for the hot water so you could end up burning yourself ……Try to close the tap and see what happens. There are no towels as he promised; we had to keep asking the helper for towels. However we ended up buying our own towels. The apartment was not serviced properly. We enquired about dstv if we should bring our card; he said he was sorting out the dstv two weeks prior to us arriving at the apartment, and he confirmed it will all be sorted out. That was not done, and there was no TV in the apartment. He confirmed they had open view HD and they ticking off all the boxes - Lies upon lies…. My kids had to drive out to go and play their online soccer tournaments. The outside area was covered in raw cement only. Every morning from 7-00hrs his builders would start banging the walls upstairs causing a huge disturbance. My “12” year old daughter had to go and plead with them to stop the noise. He ignored and avoided all my calls and messages. My son called him from a different number and he answered. He promised to refund us 50% of the accommodation amount of which was another Big Lie. He knew my sons number and he put that on block too. He said in his few replies he will half our accommodation, and listening to our points he has taken this seriously , everyday he said the EFT will be done tomorrow until we could no longer contact him. He has taken it so seriously to CHEAT us of our holiday and our money. Holiday makers work hard to take their families away and I ask you NOT to book with Akanani Tourism or have any involvement in his organization. On face book a very personal friend of his had a discussion with us confirming that he has pulled these moves onto others. He has also disabled some of his social media links to avoid us. We have all the proof and his information discussed on whatsapp messages that he sent.
