Neglegence becomes nightmare

A few months ago, my husband and I flew from Cape Town to Durban to visit family. Not wanting to inconvenience any one in Cape Town, we elected to make use of APS's car valet service and park our vehicle at the airport. Upon our return to Cape Town and the collection of our vehicle from the APS parking area, everything seemed fine, and we drove home happy with the service we had received. Upon our arrival home, my husband noticed that his vehicle was scratched and the bull-bar severely damaged. One should note that our vehicle is a Izuzu Double Cab which is built for off-roading, so it is a rugged machine and does not damage easily. Upon our noticing this damage, I immediately called APS and offered to bring the vehicle back for closer inspection. I was advised that that was not necessary and that someone would contact me first thing the following morning. To cut a very long story short, despite many emails, un-returned phone calls and seemingly useless conversations later, we are no-where closer to getting our vehicle repaired. This is after the company representative told me that the person driving our vehicle had also damaged another vehicle the same weekend and had failed to return to work thereafter!?! This is after the same representative asked us to take our vehicle to their panel-beater of choice for a quote on said damage. This is after the same representative, in writing, informed me that they could not find a supplier of our same bull-bar, and therefore suggested we accept an alternative (inferior) design. This is after we miraculously found a supplier of the exact bull-bar which we require to be replaced and sent a quote for said bull-bar to APS. We are now being told that there is actually no proof that they are responsible for the damage caused to the vehicle so are reluctant to pay for the replacement of said bull-bar.

As a consumer, I am tired of receiving bad service with a smile. Do you think because you ignore our emails and calls and tell us nicely that although you were willing to repair the damage to our vehicle inline with a cost you feel acceptable - you are not willing to make right the damage caused to both our vehicle and your name when the cost gets uncomfortable? We will be taking this further APS. We will not be taking NO for an answer.
