Taking money but give no service

I recently booked a trip to Port Elizabeth for a family wedding, and my experience with Airlink left me extremely disappointed and frustrated. As a group of five, some of whom have disabilities, I took extra care to ensure that we had comfortable seating arrangements. I specifically booked and paid for seats in rows 1 and 2 to accommodate our needs. However, what should have been a smooth journey turned into a nightmare on the return leg of our trip.

The journey to Port Elizabeth went without a hitch, and we were pleased with the service provided by Airlink. However, our return flight was a stark contrast. To our utter dismay, we found ourselves assigned to seats in row 11 and 12, a far cry from the ones we had paid for and expected.

I immediately approached a member of the airline staff to address this issue, hoping for an explanation or a solution. What transpired was truly disheartening. The staff member I spoke to appeared disinterested and unhelpful, offering nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders in response to my inquiry. When I pressed for an explanation regarding how Airlink could sell seats, accept payment for them, and then fail to provide what was promised to their clients, I was met with a deafening silence.

This experience was especially disappointing because my family and I have been loyal Airlink customers for some time, having trusted the airline with numerous journeys in the past. We had come to expect a higher level of service and reliability from Airlink, and this incident shattered that trust.

What adds to our frustration is the fact that no assistance or alternative seating arrangements were offered to us during the flight. We were essentially left to deal with the situation on our own, with no recourse for addressing the airline's failure to meet its commitments.

Furthermore, the issue extends beyond the inconvenience of seating arrangements. It raises questions about the accountability and professionalism of Airlink as a service provider. When passengers pay for specific seats, it is not unreasonable to expect those seats to be provided as reserved. The lack of a meaningful response from the airline staff only compounds the disappointment.

Lastly, the financial aspect of this ordeal is a concern. We paid for a service that was not fully delivered, and we are left wondering if and when we will be reimbursed for the difference in the cost between the seats we booked and the ones we were assigned.

In conclusion, our recent experience with Airlink has left us deeply dissatisfied and concerned about the airline's commitment to customer service and satisfaction. We hope that this review serves as a means of drawing attention to the issues we encountered and prompts the airline to take steps to rectify the situation and prevent such disappointments in the future.
