Service not fair at all

I had to forfeit my plain ticket because I was 2 min late for boarding, had to repurchase another ticket to get to my destination later that day, but today our plane was supposed to take off at 12:40 from richards Bay to Johannesburg and we are still sitting in boarding office/room, my quastion to airlink is do u think it's fair to forfeit someone's ticket if they are late but if u are late u don't credit them in any way just in case u don't know it's already 12:45 and we haven't even started boarding yet
