28 Feb 2025, 16:42This is what the response was since first reported of Sun 6/2/2024 16:31 adding that they only received the claim "We acknowledge receipt of your claim dated 28 September 2024 with no time" from them which is seven months difference or a gap, this person Constance Mthembu Duty Manager writing this response does not care that there is also a purchases and proof of receipts attached if you guys want proof of the email trail. If they communicated these already in February 2024 that would have been professional of them or customer centric in attending to my claim. The Duty Manager will have to personally read all the information and not just close my case as if there were no witnesses involved.
This Manager just become technical after seven months when the claim is from February of 2024

We acknowledge receipt of your claim dated 28 September 2024. Airlink (Proprietary) Limited (“Airlink”) is a member of the International Air Transport Association (“IATA”). As such, it is recommended that Airlink follows international best practice when considering baggage claims which is contained within the Montreal and Warsaw Conventions, given the prevalence of *****ulent claims and third party theft at international airports. You can have access to these conventions on our website under the tab “important information/Acts and Regulations”. We wish to bring your attention to clause 10 (Baggage policy) of our conditions of carriage. We have assessed your claim in accordance with clause 10.4.3 of our conditions of carriage, which states that Airlink will not accept liability for valuable articles in checked baggage. Based on the aforesaid, we respectfully decline your claim for compensation for your glasses. We have assessed the remainder of your claim in accordance with clause 10.21.5 of our conditions of carriage, which states:” All claims submitted to the Airline must be substantiated by: A sworn affidavit in the presence of a Commissioner of Oaths. Authenticated, printed, documentary proof of purchase for the items claimed (original receipts) indicating the date of purchase and the price of purchase. An annual depreciation rate of 10% will be deducted from the purchase of the items claimed.” Based on the aforesaid, we respectfully have to decline your claim for the damaged bag.
