DAMAGED PROPERTY, Dirty plane, no sanitizer in flight
We flew with Airlink on 04 January 2021, flight number 4Z900 , from Cape Town International Airport to OR Tambo International Airport. (This problem was taken up with the above company on multiple occasions with no satisfactory solution) Firstly, the plane was not properly cleaned. Crumbs on the seat, a lid of a smoothie cup on the floor. No sanitizer was provided during the flight, and no visible sanitizing stations. The air hostesses were not very friendly. My husband requested a colddrink when the food cart came by, as he was asleep when the beverage cart was passing. The lady switched on his assistance light and requested a colddrink, which was received. Some time had passed and my husband fell asleep. Another hostess came pass, woke him up and ask “why is your light on?” We took our son’s car seat along, we booked it in at oversized luggage at CTI (Airlink confirmed via email that the image does not show any damage). The car seat was received at OR Tambo on the conveyor belt and not at oversized luggage as it was booked in as. My husband immediately noticed damage to the item. Airlinks response was that the item had to be marked as a fragile object, which it is NOT. Furthermore, they included a clause in their email which states oversized luggage does not get transported on a conveyor belt, which contradicts what was done. CCTV footage was pulled and they advised that they can not see any “mishandling” of the item. This is unacceptable. The imaging at CIT shows no damage, obviously, meaning that it was damaged somewhere in transit. I have given them amble time to resolve my query and they are just refusing to come to the party with either a refund or replacement.
