Airlink lost our luggage on our honeymoon

My husband and I flew to Nosy Be, Madagascar with Airlink for our honeymoon. This was a direct flight from Johannesburg, just over 3 hours long. My luggage did not arrive and Airlink told us it would be on the next flight. They only have one flight a week to Nosy Be so they were proposing we'd get my luggage on the same day we were leaving. Some people on our flight actually had that happen - Airlink lost half the plane's luggage and 2 x peoples luggage arrived as we were boarding to go home. Shocking. This ruined my honeymoon as we had all our sun screen, insect repellent and basic necessities in that bag. Nosy Be is very rustic (beautiful though) but it meant getting basics like sunblock, eye contact solution and clothes/sandals were exceptionally hard to find, and expensive. We had to buy some of these goods and we've sent the reimbur*****t forms back to Airlink who have not responded to us. They do not care about their customers and very little effort or concern was made and shown to us during this ordeal. We used to love Airlink and would fly with them often, but never again. Mistakes happen but it's the way you deal with them that determine retention of customer business.
