*****ulant damage deductions.

I booked a lovely stay through AirBNB for a place in Capetown hosted by Propr, through AirBNB. Propr, could not confirm early check in on three seperate occasions as requested. When the day of arrival finally occured I once more confirmed early check-in. I was asked to bag drop as the cleaning staff required 2 additional hours AFTER the normal check in procedures of 15:00 to clean the mess left by the previous tenant. I obliged, dropped my bags and left to eat out with my 7 guests. I had to spend money on dinner as I couldn't use the kitchen provided with my accomadation. We stayed from Thursday to Sunday and only used the braai facilities in the home on Saturday evening for a steak dinner. Every other meal was dining out as we had a very full schedule in Capetown during our stay. A week after I received a claim for damages of a single pot to the value of R1500. I declined as I NEVER used any cookware during my stay, I only used plates and cutlery for the braai on saturday night. My appeal was rejected without any evidence that I caused the damages. My card was debited for the amount and I have ZERO way to further appeal the matter. AirBNB agent Ayannah spoke to me on the phone directly and heard my concerns. She confirmed on the phone that the damages for the pot will be dropped and I can consider the matter closed. After that another agent Skyy sent me a message that I am still liable for the damages, I repsonded that Ayannah already assured me that the case was closed and I was not liable the day previous. That apeak was rejected and money was simply deducted from my account without ANY further way to communicate or appeal the decision. There is ZERO evidence that this pot was in brand new condition prior to my check in and the damages in question is from LONG time wear and tear and not something that happened druing a two and a half day stay with a guest that NEVER used the pot!
