The Risk of dealing with Airbnb

After working as a part time Superhost for the past 6 years and nearly two thousand reviews later , I have come to the conclusion that is a major risk for the guest or booker and guest house or apartment owner to deal with Airbnb.

They are hiding behind their smartly developed Robotic Communication Network exploiting hosts and unsuspecting property owners alike.

They are ruthless and knowingly destroying vocational rental service providers here in historical Stellenbosch. Taking money from unsuspecting travelers and book accommodation but refuse to pay for services provided. For the month of July 2024 and so far in August they have not been paying any of our apartment owners and the outstanding overdue amount is now about R 250 000. What the average traveller does not understand is that the Airbnb failure to pay for accommodation provided remains a ******** offence in South Africa where the booker or guest can still be held liable for accommodation provided.
