Nightmare

Good day

When we got to the reception of the place of accommodation we were advised that we cannot stay there as we are not listed on the list of people allowed to stay there. I then proceeded to call Reeta that advised I must inform the receptionist that we are cousins or I won't be allowed to stay there, she then requested to speak to the receptionist and she informed him we family, of which we are not. He then let us in and when we got upstairs into the flat someone by the name of Mrs Ebrahim called who is a trustee of the place, she advised that she knows we are not family and that Reeta is letting out the place *******ly as it is only available to her and her immediate family. She then said that she wants all our IDs and the kids birth certificates in order to draw up and agreement with us. I advised that I did not travel with all those documents, she then further advised that I need to let one of the kids it's a 4 bedroom place. I told her I will call Reeta and then call her back, when I called Reeta she told me just to relax she will call the lady. A few minutes later two gentlemen appeared and wanted our IDs and if we couldn't produce it we need to leave immediately. I called Reeta once more and she did we should go in the flat and lock ourselves in for the day. Mrs Ebrahim called back and they wanted police affidavits and other documentation, we couldn't produce IDs for everyone so we had to leave. My husband then called Reeta and she said that she was having problems with us staying there before we got there and she couldn't get us alternate accommodation, so he asked why did she not tell us and we would of sorted something out for ourselves.

We left immediately as we were told to leave by management.

Besides our whole ordeal with Reeta, the place Reaked of booze, the bedding was dirty and smelled awful, no hot water, glass on the floor and the couch smelled like someone had died there. Also the bathroom had a used ****** on the floor. The fridge had old food in it. The place and the courtyard was basically very unsanitary.

This was our first time booking with Airbnb and I got to say that it was the worst nightmare of our lives. As a mother how could I have sent one of kids out the flat? I have a 9 month old baby, a 9 year old with diabetes and my little sister of 15 years. I'm still in shock of this whole ordeal, worst experience ever.What's worst is now we have to request a refund and are just being sent from pillar to post.
