Hosts cancel booking, No Accountability

Our booking at Barbara’s place was cancelled just two days before our scheduled check-in, with no explanation provided. What was most concerning is that we were not informed proactively — had I not reached out, we would not have known about the abrupt cancellation.

This last-minute cancellation caused significant inconvenience and stress, especially with travel plans already in place. Unfortunately, we were also not satisfied with Airbnb’s resolution or the way this issue was handled. No compensation was offered to assist with securing alternative last-minute accommodation, despite the urgency of the situation.

Airbnb needs to intervene more decisively when hosts cancel at the last minute without a reasonable explanation, as guests are left stranded with very limited options.
