host claiming damages

Went on a trip this december, arrived at a beautiful apartment on the 16th December 2021 and had a lovely stay. Get back and two weeks later my mom gets a claim for damgages to a table for us aparently smoking hubbly on a table and damaging it. Firstly declined the claim on the app on the grounds that we do not even smoke hubbly and add in the fact that the marks where already on the table when we got there. Airbnb is now in the process of investigating even though that date stated on the claim is completely impossible being the 17th December even though the cleaner was not even at the apartment that day. We messaged the host to dicussed this like Adults he told us he will phone us and then never did. I am completely disgusted that we are being blamed for something that we did not even do.
