FALSE ADVERTISING OF ACCOMMODATION PRICES ON AIR BNB

I searched for accommodation over Dec 2018 in Knysna and found something affordable. The price that was advertised was good. It worked out to around R992.00 per day including cleaning, service fees and breakfast. We booked and paid 50% deposit to Air BnB via our Credit Card. A lady by the name of Karin from Bergsig B&B contacte me via e-mail and stated that the amount was in actual fact R20 950.00 (+- R1497.00 p/day). When I enquired with Karin why the amount was now R505.00 more per day, she just rep**** that the rates by Air BnB was wrong and that her price is the correct one and I have to pay that amount if I wanted to come and stay there. No apology or any attempt to correct the matter with Air BnB or just assisting in getting my deposit back. She just emailed back and said that the deposit was paid to Air BnB and I must get it back from them.

I had also, after booking the accommodation, booked my plane tickets as well as booking a vehicle for that period. Only to now have to run around to search for other accommodation as well as trying to get my money out of Air BnB.

I am of the view that clients advertising on Air BnB must make sure that the advertised prices are in line with what their actual charges is.

They must actually give me the accommodation on the advertised rates and the difference in cost be covered by either Bergsig B&B or Air BnB or both as this has caused me a lot of inconvenience.
