AirBnb's p@#s

My buddies and I booked a place in November 2019 for April 2020. Covid happened and we were happy to reschedule for October 2020, the host contacted us 2 weeks ago before our last payment was due saying that the house is unavailable due to renovations. We got refunded and found another place, the exact same thing happened again, got refunded and we tried booking AGAIN, found another place and the host took too long to respond to the request and it expired, leaving us to run around like headless chickens looking for accommodation as most of us booked leave and is unable to change it. I thought airbnb is all that by the way people talk about it but it's really terrible. High service fees but absolutely terrible service, why allow a place to pop up in the search results if it's not available on the specific dates that you search for. Something is really lacking. First and last!
