Airbnb Withholding Host Payout of R11,484 Due to System Glitch – Unresolved for 10 Months

As an Airbnb host, I am extremely disappointed by the lack of support and resolution from Airbnb regarding a payout of R11,484.00, which has remained unpaid since September 2024.

The issue appears to be related to a persistent system glitch that repeatedly prompts me to submit identity verification documents, despite the fact that I have uploaded the required documents multiple times. The verification process fails to progress, instead sending me in a loop that resets each time I follow the prescribed steps.

I have contacted Airbnb support on numerous occasions, primarily through their messaging platform, but have yet to receive a meaningful response or solution. Despite repeated efforts to resolve the issue in good faith, Airbnb has failed to release the funds owed to me for hosting services already rendered.

It is highly concerning that a company of Airbnb’s scale and reputation is unable—or unwilling—to resolve a relatively straightforward account issue, especially when it involves funds that belong to a host. This experience raises serious questions about the platform’s accountability and the reliability of its support systems for hosts.

I urge Airbnb to take this matter seriously, to resolve the system error preventing verification, and to release the payout that is long overdue. Hosts are the backbone of the Airbnb platform, and we deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect.
