AirBnb - Extenuating circumstances policy and the coronavirus (COVID-19) not adhered to
I booked an apartment for a conference for the 19th March - 22nd March....this was booked and FULLY paid for on the 26th Feb 2020.
I was subsequently quarantined due to my travel to London and hence had to cancel my booking. I supp**** Air BnB with his proof of this quarantine and according to their COVID extenuating circumstances policy, I could request a full refund.
The wording to be exact "Reservations for stays and Airbnb Experiences made on or before March 14, 2020, with a check-in date between March 14, 2020 and May 31, 2020, may be canceled before check-in. This means that guests who cancel will receive, at their option, travel credit or a full cash refund, hosts can cancel without charge or impact to their Superhost status, and Airbnb will either refund, or issue travel credit in an amount that includes, all service fees."
To date, I am still waiting for a response from AirBnB despite NUMEROUS attempts to contact them. The Host does not have the decency to reply to me and has not been very helpful at all.....I will not be using AirBnB again in the future....once bitten, twice shy!
Very disappointing response in these difficult times....
