Bad service Air Namibia

Hi, we booked flight tickets from OR Tambo to Hosea in Windhoek in middle October 2020, they opened up September 2020 for bookings, we booked for 2 people on Air Namibia for departure 27th December at 06:40 and returning the 7th January 14:10,paid the full amount of R8577.57 with credit card and received by mail the confirmation of the tickets booked, ticket no 11YDT4, ticket no*** respectively.

When we wanted to check in this afternoon the 26th, we could not, web site in-active, we tried every possible phone number on the net regarding Air Namibia, the Namibia numbers, client service numbers, OR Tambo office numbers, eventually out of frustration, we drove from Pretoria to OR Tambo for incase the systems might have down. At OR Tambo, we went the closed office of Air Namibia, to be met wit a notice on the glass with a list of numbers to call, we did without any success On enquiring at Info centers and other places like Bid air that we have been referred to, no luck. Nobody at the airport could tell us whether Air Namibia was actually operating or have flights the 27th. Eventually a French Airline gentleman, and I mean Gentleman, contacted the controllers, just to find out that Air Namibia have stopped all flights, another gentleman suggested that we tried Airlink and West air(unfami****), but the first open tickets available were on the 5th January, we can do nothing with that as we have to return the 7th.

Why doesn't Air Namibia contact or inform the passengers, the tickets have been paid and deducted immediately from my account, they have all the passenger info when a person do the booking, all our travel arrangements had now to be re-organized and I must pay for traveling by car with additional expense and loosing effectively 2 days traveling plus the cost of overnighting as covid rules in Namibia does not allow you to be on the road after 21:00.

I really think it is pathetic and very unprofessional for a company like Air Namibia to treat passengers/customers the way they did, nowhere on the net can we find a post of Air Namibia cancelling flights apart from the grounding of some aircraft for maintenance purposes.

The sad part is that Namibia in this festive season advertise on SA television to come and visit and enjoy Namibia, like hell, once bitten, twice shy, If I do decide to go to Namibia again, I would certainly use another airline, even with financial implications, who is going to be liable for all the expenses? We do have proof of all attempts.
