Horrible service from Air India regarding different topics
Poor Service, Rude Staff and Shocking communication from Air India.
My family and I visited India this month. Our internal flight bookings we made by a travel agent to use Air India. Issue 1: Flight attendants do not seem to be trained to be polite... They do not assist with finding cabin space, even if the space above your seat is full. They do not seem to know how to walk within the aisle, I was bumped and kicked too many times! Issue 2: Amritsar Airport: 2 of us were told by the Air India security staff to go to the Air India counter before entering the airport, where as the other 2 were let into the airport. We did not know why, after the Air India employee behind the counter spoke rudely and shouted at me without understanding that we were told to go to him he told us to leave. A little later we found out that the counter we were directed to was for lost tickets, and we did not need to be there. Issue 3: Amritsar to Delhi Flight was cancelled with NO communication. I heard that there were some issues with flights so I checked the status of my flight and all seemed to be in order with the flight number status "Scheduled". I double checked with our travel agent in South Africa, the flight showed "Scheduled" on her side as well after calling Air India to confirm. I tried to complete my online check-in which did not work.,That is when I called Air India. I was then told that my flight had been cancelled and to stay on the line for the agent to confirm. After sometime, the agent confirmed that the flight was cancelled and asked if I would like to be put through to another agent who can help with an another flight. I accepted that offer and after 45 minutes, was told that I will receive new ticket numbers to my email within approximately 3 minutes. After 1.5 hours, I did not receive the new tickets so I called Air India again, only to discover that the previous person I spoke to did not put my request through for a new flight. So... I had to start the process again. After 2 hours of being on the phone, I received new tickets for a new flight which I did not have to pay for. Issue 4: I completed my check-in for the new flight and selected seats for my family and I in the front of the plane and all aisle seats for comfort. When we went to the check-in counter to drop-off our luggage, the Air India staff at the check-in counter took the liberty to CHANGE ALL OUR SEATS! She seated us at the LAST row of the plane. When I asked her why she changed the seats, she said that she thought we would want to sit in a row! I said, no, we chose our seats according to comfort, and in the front so we can disembark quite quickly. She said t will look if my previous seats were still available, after 10 minutes she said that her system is slow and it is taking to long so she wants to help the next passenger and I will have to wait. She said again that she thought we would want to sit in a row. I told her that she should have asked before changing it, she raised her voice and told me to wait 5 minutes so she can try to change it. I was annoyed and ended up leaving it as is.
