Special Assistance Passengers: Do not rely on KLM to look after you
I was changing terminals at Schipol airport by wheelchair in August 2017. Whilst passing through the security machine my glasses were broken. I was extremely upset by this as I cannot see without them. I was given an address to send the invoice to for the cost of the repairs and was wheeled to my connecting flight without being able to see. In the chaos my expensive jacket was left behind at security. The jacket is now at Lost and Found at Schipol airport and they are demanding 60 euros to courier my jacket back to me in Cape Town. KLM has planes flying to South Africa everyday and they refuse to return it to me or take any responsibility for it. Am I not correct in assuming that when one books a flight with special assistance me and my possessions will get to my destination safely?
