Dropping the ball

I am due to fly with my family on KLM. My two Boston Terriers were supposed to fly on the same flight. KLM told the pet company that it would all be easier if the dogs are on the same flight. This is why we booked KLM. 5 Days before the flight, KLM advises the pet company that they won't be able to fly the dogs as they now have an embargo on Boston Terriers. Shocking!!! Why could you not have told us that in the first place and we would have made other arrangements.
