Curious about seat allocation

My family and I flew from Amsterdam to Johannesburg on 5th January 2019. The service was really amazing.

However, I don't know if this was coincidence. Every window seat on economy was occupied by white people. All of them. I was disappointed by this and wonder if there's an explanation for it.
