Lying and overcharging
When leaving Lyon, I phoned the call centre and asked about overweight baggage charges. I was told I would be charged €100 for up to 32kg for each of my suitcases. I asked if this charge would apply when I changed flights in Paris at Charles de Gaul as well and was assured that, as they were two legs of one flight, I would not be charged again.
At Lyon, I was charged for the one suitcase, as promised. Upon baggage check at Charles de Gaul, I was told I would have to pay again, and that my carry-on luggage was too large and I would have to pay ANOTHER €100 for that piece and place it in the hold. I eventually had to pay again as they had argued with me for so long that I was at risk of missing my flight and having to pay for another ticket if I were to stay and argue my point.
I find this incorrect information given to me from the call centre, and the terrible attitudes of the staff in Paris to be completely unacceptable, and I feel I am entitled to a refund of €200 for which I should not have been charged, as I was only charged in one leg. The inconsistency of staff in different airports and the call centre is inexcusable and unacceptable.
And "being Parisian" is NOT AN EXCUSE for the rudeness displayed by the Parisian staff. I am a fluent, but not native French speaker, all of the conversations were held in French, so there is really no excuse for the disdainful attitudes, particularly in Paris, that I experienced, and the utter uselessness of the manager was just a cherry on top.
