AIM toaster oven is a flaming disgrace!

I recently bought an AIM 8 litre toaster oven, model: AT08. I bought it at Pick 'n Pay, Port Alfred, Eastern Cape.

I am extremely disappointed in the design of the oven, as are my elderly parents, who bought this model when they saw mine.

I had a much older AIM toaster oven model which, although all the numbers and letters had worn off the exterior, was a much better design. My parents also feel that they should rather have kept their old, worn model which was a much better design.

This Model AT08 only has a grill/grid at the bottom of the oven, which means that buns or bread, for example, burn at the bottom too quickly and don't toast on top, if using one or the other settings.

It is almost impossible to clean properly as I can't remove the grill/grid and can't get to the back, sides and bottom to clean properly. There in no removable tray at the bottom to clean. Ants have now invaded the oven because it's got old food debris in it.

In addition, and alarmingly, despite following the cooking instructions to the letter in the instruction manual, the oven recently caught fire!

Unfortunately I didn't return the oven within 30 days so now I am stuck with a very unsatisfactory model.

My parents and I are all pensioners and we are most disappointed that we paid good money for a badly designed appliance.

To add insult to injury, I cannot find contact details for AIM worldwide, let alone in South Africa
