Difficult to claim!!

My parents both passed away in hospital in February and had a hospital insurance with AIG for over 16 years. Now we are asked to jump through the most ridiculous hoops to claim on their policy. They keep requiring more and more reports from the Doctor and hospital. Apart from the fee already paid for the Doctor's report, we are now asked to supply more and more reports from the hospital ward and ICU, which will cost a whopping estimated R5000!! My parents' Medical Aid is very strict and would not authorise unnecessary hospital stay, but there seems to be no satisfying AIG. Spending the R5000 for the reports is still no guarantee that the claim will be paid. It's a simple hospital insurance, which is supposed to pay per day in hospital, but they make is so impossible to claim! I for one will NEVER deal with AIG, nor will I buy one of those hospital insurances from any insurance company. They make it sound so simple when they sell these products, but boy, just you try and claim!
