Refuse to pay back rental deposit

I am writing this report on behalf of my daughter Dorothy van Deventer ID No. *** who rented a property from Aida Witbank on the 1st April 2013. Dorothy entered into a contract with Aida and had to pay the first month's rent and deposit upfront plus admin fees. She rented the property situated at 183 Aquarius street Reymanor Witbank and stayed there until August 2014. When her employment contract came to an end in July 2014 she gave the applicable 1 month's notice as was required and vacated the premise at the end of August. The agent only inspected the property at the end of September 2014 and the new tenants moved in. When Dorothy enquired why they did not reimburse her deposit which according to the rental law should be done within 7 days, she was informed that the agency was in liquidation and can't pay her the money. This is ***** because the deposit is supposed to be kept in a trust fund. After various phone calls and correspondence via e-mail she was informed by [Email Removed] from Venca Tax Practioners t/a Aida on the 1st December 2014 that they are working on the claim which was submitted on a claim form by Dorothy. it is now March 2015 still nothing
