AIDA Pretoria Norht - DO NOT USE THEM

STAY AWAY! Rental Agent Debbie Minnaar from Pretoria North helped my mom to find a tenant. We found out later, the "accredited Tenant" as per the contract is not staying in the house, but her sister. Debbie arranged for this. This was not disclosed, or per the agreement. The tenant was consistently in arrears, and only paid once she was threatened with a Letter of Demand. It was a nightmare. The contract comes to an end this month, January 2023, and the Municipal account is R110 000+ outstanding. Aida was supposed to manage this as per the Mandate. With the contract coming to an end, Debbie drafted and got the tenant to sign a new agreement, without consulting the Landlord, or discuss the rental amount. (Which remained the same for 3 years). The e-mail came as urgent, and to be signed within the next hour. Just like that. Of cause we said NO. We also got other agencies to advise on the market price. R2000 more. Although we signed up with Aida agency to administer the process, paying commission, we are in a situation were we have take the tenants to court for outstanding moneys. STAY AWAY!

There are two sides to each story. Me van der Merwe was not involved in the original contract arrangements, but her brother, who was taking care of his mother's affairs at that time, and who was aware of the said agreement with the tenant for a 3-year contract.  Aida, as managing agent do not take responsibility for Municipal accounts but assist owners in forwarding same for payment.  Our company logged onto Tshwane for accounts until such time that the password and login was changed.  Owner neglected to provide the agency with accounts for numerous months but yet blames the agent/agency for neglect.   Tenants rent is fully paid and on receipt of the City of Tshwane account made arrangements for down payments which Me van der Merwe declined.  The Agency provided the relevant service for the fee paid.  Our company and agent have been in constant communication with the tenant to get an amicable solution to this problem and reiterate our commitment to finalize the dispute.
