OIE Rabies Reference Laboratory - Very Bad, Unreliable & Don't Care Service

We are busy with the procedure of exporting our animals(Dogs) to Mauritius from the 27-04-2019. This procedure normally takes about 6 months and the animals being shipped to the destination. The shipping date of my animals is 31-10-2019 by Airways and handled by Keringa Petwings who will collect them on the 29-10-2019 to prepare for clearance.

The procedure is as follows:

1. 27-04-2019 : Vaccines

2. 28-05-2019 : First Blood samples for RNATT test 1 Rabies. ***-D-7698 The OIE Rabies reference Laboratory completed this test after 7 weeks (49 days) on the 17-07-2019. I have received that results only via email after another month on the 16 August 2019, after I called Dr. Claude Sabeta. VERY BAD AND UNRELIABLE SERVICE - NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE Department

3. 28-08-2019 : Second Blood samples for RNATT test 2 Rabies. ***-D-12626 The OIE Rabies reference Laboratory did not complete this test up to today 22-10-2019. This is now nearly 8 weeks (55 days) on the 22-10-2019. Plenty phone calls made to Dr. Claude Sabeta without any success, just empty promises, always ask same information, never return calls. VERY BAD AND UNRELIABLE SERVICE - NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE Department

4. 18-09-2019 : Blood samples for Ehrlichia canis and Brucella canis tests. These 2 test must be done within 45 days prior depature of animals.

4.a. Ehrlichia canis test was done by the Dept of Veterinary Tropical Diseases Serology Laboratory - University of Pretoria and completed on the 26-09-2019 ( 8 days only). ***/19 I received results on the same day from Michael Khoza. GREAT JOB WELL DONE & THANK YOU SO MUCH

4.b. Brucella canis test was done by the Bacterial Serology Laboratory and because of a problem the test being completed without results on the 26-09-2019 ( 8 days only). Another blood sample was send on the 30-09-2019 and the test results were completed on the 03-10-2019 ( 3 days only ). ***-D-14177 I received results on the same day from Dr. A.D. Potts GREAT JOB WELL DONE & THANK YOU SO MUCH

Due to the bad service of the Rabies Laboratory, there is only 7 working days left to receive RNATT test 2, apply for import permit in Mauritius & shipping by Petwings.

Yesterday 21-10-2019 we send another Blood Sample for a re-test of the Ehrlichia canis, because the 45 days prior depature expires on the 1-11-2019. This is due to the long delays from the Rabies Laboratory that FAIL TO PRODUCE the results and they suppose to be responsible for these extra costs.
