False bookings!!

I'm extremely disappointed. My husband and I have been saving to have a short vacation with our children this year, on the 9th of September my husband booked a week at the Bayside lodge Pinetown trough Agoda.com for the 20th of December to the 27th of December. The booking was confirmed online and payment date was set for the 10th of December. Today we wanted to make the payment, but for some reason my husband decided to phone the lodge before making a payment. The lady that answered the phone took all of his details and said she could not pick up our booking on their system and did not really care to assist any further.. Thus we now don't have accommodation for December. This is so disappointing as we already made all of the arrangements, and booked in advance especially. We have an email clearly showing the our booking has been confirmed! Agoda.com is really horrible and left us in a very difficult situation now!! I will not recommend anyone to make use of their services.
