Agoda books rooms that they do not have

Booked a hotel room using their website and paid for it. Agoda confirmed the booking. When I double checked with the hotel, they advised that they were fully booked a week before. Agoda was selling rooms that they did not have. If I did not double check I would have traveled and being stuck with no accommodation. Still battling to get my money back.
